Getting Started

How do I create a Detroit Handy Maids Account?

When you make your first booking you will be asked if you will be prompted to make a Detroit Handy Maid account.

Do you service my area?

We service all of Wayne, Macomb, Oakland Counties and parts of Ann Arbor, Michigan.  If you have questions about our service area please call us at (313) 720-5609.  Sometimes we make exceptions to our service area.

What is included in a standard cleaning?

Please contact us and we will send a complete checklist of all that is included in your cleaning. We can tailor cleanings to your needs, and also offer hourly cleaning for those with more specific requests.

How much will it cost?

Our websites’ booking page gives an instant estimate.  Our estimates are accurate 90% of the time unless a client requests services not listed on our booking page.  If your estimate increases or decreases, we will first discuss it with you before work is started.

Do you bring your own cleaning supplies, products and equipment?

Unlike other companies, our standard products are ‘green’.  Though from time to time, tougher chemicals are needed. We will always ask your consent before we use them.

We are always willing to work with clients that request that we use their cleaning supplies.

Can I request special tasks or extras?

Step 4 of the booking process allows you to select pre-made tasks and extras.  If you do not find the service that you were looking for you can request it in the special instructions box.  Or you can call us directly at (313) 720-5609.

As an example, we offer move in/move out, packing and eviction services.  Those services are not listed on our booking form.

Manage Your Account

How do I log into my account?

At the bottom of every page is a ‘Sign in’ icon in the lower right corner.  Click the icon to sign in.  If you need any assistance, please call us at (313) 560-7209.

How do I change my password?

By logging in to your Detroit Handy Maid account, go to ‘Settings’ and choose ‘Change Password’.  If you are still having issues, call us at (313) 720-5609 and we can walk you through the process.

How do I reset my password?

You can apply a coupon to a future appointment by logging into your account and clicking your name in the top right hand corner. You can then select “redeem voucher” and enter your code. The system will automatically apply the code to your next appointment. You can not apply your coupon to past appointment that are already completed.

How do I change my address?

You can change your address directly in your profile or send us an email at detroithandymaid@gmail.com and we can update it for you.

How do I change my credit card?

You can change it directly by logging in to your profile (Update Payments) or just give us a call at (313) 720-5609.

How do I book my first appointment?

Go to www.DetroitHandyMaids.com and follow the instructions at the beginning of the page.  If you are having problems please call us at (313) 720-5609.

Pricing & Policies

How do I use my Detroit Handy Maid credits?

They can be used on any of our services or for a gift card but they cannot be redeemed for cash.

They can be combined with any discount.

How can I view my Detroit Handy Maid credits?

Create a Detroit Handy Maid account and your credits will be listed in your profile.

Can I apply a coupon to an existing appointment?

Why are some vouchers / coupons for first time customer only?

We believe in our services and the rates that we charge. From time to time, we offer our services at a reduced rate to new customers for them to experience the quality of Detroit Handy Maid. Think of it as a get to know us time. As a regular client if you would like to discuss or negotiate a better regular rate we are always willing to discuss it!

I bought a gift card and Detroit Handy Maid does not cover my area, what should I do?

Give us a call and we will try to make it work for you.

Trust & Safety

Can I trust my cleaning professional?

All of our cleaners references are checked and a criminal and Real ID background check is performed. If you do not feel confident with your cleaner at anytime let us know and we will remove them , and replace with a different cleaning team. All of our cleaners work in teams of no less than two people.

What happens if something goes wrong during my appointment?

Please let us know as soon as possible, so that we may correct free of charge whatever went wrong. If we cannot fix it, we will replace or refund part or all of what went wrong. We offer a 100% guarantee on our services and only want to put our clients first. We believe our clients happiness is our biggest asset. Is my billing information kept safe and secure?

Only you have access to your whole account number.  There are three types of SSL Certificates issued to websites, of which we carry the most secure, an extended validation certificate.   Further, we use Swipe as our credit card processor, one of the internets most trusted with their own security. Your security is our first priority. If you have further questions please call the office and ask to speak with Arthur, and he will answer any further questions that you have.

Do the cleaning professionals go through a background check?

Yes! We have teamed up with Sentrylink.com to perform background checks on all our employees.

What is your 100% satisfaction guarantee policy?

We ask that if you are not 100% satisfied with your cleaning, to let us know as soon as possible. We will come back to clean or fix any issues within 24 hours, or the next time you are available. If we are unable to make you 100% satisfied with a second visit, we will refund part or all of your cleaning fee.

What is your refund policy?

We will refund part or all of your cleaning fee if we have attempted to remedy to fix any dissatisfaction in your cleaning service, and find that it did not remedy the situation. Our clients are our most valuable asset.
